Dear Parents, Players, and Families of PPGL,
As we approach our first week of practice, we must remain mindful that we are in the middle of a global pandemic, which necessitates strict adherence to a set of policies and protocols to ensure the safety of our coaches and players. PPGL's Board of Directors have generally adopted the U.S. Lacrosse safety guidelines, along with some additional, more protective measures to further aid in the safety of our coaches and players. The U.S. Lacrosse Return-to-Play Recommendations can be found here: http://files.LeagueAthletics.com/Images/Club/12016/us-lacrosse-return-to-play-july-1-final.pdf. In addition to these recommendations, PPGL has instituted the following protocols, until further notice:
- Players and coaches MUST wear masks from the time they exit their vehicle until they reach the game/practice field; as soon as a game or practice is over, players and coaches MUST wear masks from the time they leave the field until they are safely in their vehicle. At our practice facilities, all persons must wear masks within the parking areas.
- Parents may not congregate around PPGL's practice fields and must remain in their vehicles should they wish to wait on their child during practices.
- Each player must complete an online form prior to each practice confirming that the player has not experienced certain COVID-19 symptoms in the 24-hour period immediately preceding the practice start time.
- If a player tests positive for COVID-19, or believes she has been exposed to COVID-19, that player and/or parent must communicate the positive result or possible exposure immediately to Coach Amy and Coach Barb. At that time, the coaches will be in touch with the Board of Directors, who will discuss next steps.
As we kick off the fall lacrosse season, PPGL will be operating under U.S. Lacrosse Stage 3 guidelines for our high school players and U.S. Lacrosse Stage 2 for our youth players. Our coaches and Board of Directors are in touch with the district and state girls' lacrosse leagues and are staying hyper-vigilant regarding COVID-19 developments. Should it be determined, for the safety of our coaches and players, the need to regress to earlier U.S. Lacrosse stages, the coaches will communicate that directive as soon as a decision is made in that regard. Our coaches remain ready to pivot to online training, if the need arises, so that our players can maintain their skills and their momentum.
We are excited to have the girls back on the lacrosse field! It's going to take our whole village to make the 2020-2021 season a safe, healthy, fun and winning ride. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
